With over 60% browser market share according to statcounter.com, there is no doubt that Chrome is undoubtedly one of the best browsers out there. Makes sense why Microsoft decided to build its new Edge browse on Chromium to support chrome extensions. The Chrome Web Store offers a wide range of extensions for Productivity, News, Weather, and a whole lot more. You might not need to search for a needle in a haystack because here I have listed 10 chrome extensions I believe you will love and should definitely give a try!

The Great Suspender

The Great Suspender is a lightweight extension to reduce chrome’s memory footprint. Make your computer run smoothly by suspending the tabs you aren’t using. Perfect if you have a lot of tabs open at the same time. Tabs that have not been viewed after a configurable length of time will be automatically suspended in the background, freeing up the memory and CPU being consumed by that tab.

When it’s needed for the website to work properly, it will automatically accept the cookie policy for you (sometimes it will accept all and sometimes only necessary cookie categories, depending on what’s easier to do). It doesn’t delete cookies.

Video Speed Controller

Video Speed Controller speeds up, slow down, advance, and rewind HTML5 audio/video with shortcuts. It will help you optimize your video viewing by allowing you to make quick playback speed adjustments, as well as rewind the video to hear the last few seconds one more time. We don’t read at a constant speed, and we talk much slower than we read — there is no reason why we have to listen at a constant speed and at a (very) slow rate.

It was a difficult one to not include many other extensions, but here are some extensions that could've made it to this list. So our honorable mentions goes to:

  1. Speedtest by OOkla —test your internet performance directly from your toolbar.
  2. Wappalyzer is a technology profiler that shows you what websites are built with.
  3. Awesome Screenshot and Screen Recorder — does exactly as the name says :).

Do you have an extension that you believe deserves to make it to the list? Please leave a reply in the comment section.

I made sure I compiled the best list for you but in case there is one you didn’t like, you can always remove extensions here chrome://extensions/. After all, there is no harm in trying something new.
